Get your hands dirty in the OCAF Pottery Studio

Pottery Studio General Information

Mastering the art of pottery requires a basic understanding of the qualities of clay and lots of practice. The Pottery Studio at OCAF provides the opportunity for both. The Studio is open exclusively to OCAF Members year-round, and offers the tools necessary to throw clay on a wheel and learn the art of hand-building (provided you’ve completed a course in the basics). OCAF’s community of potters, volunteers, and staff members are always available to answer questions, give advice, and maintain a well organized workplace.

OCAF offers classes throughout the year for beginners to advanced potters. Additionally, the Studio serves as a classroom for UNG art students and as a camp experience for younger kids in the summer.

Occasionally, the studio also hosts workshops or demos to teach particular techniques or feature a guest artist. Beginning potters must complete at least one course in the basics before having free use of the Studio.
