Beth Malone Bio

Beth joins OCAF with 17 years of expertise in business and non-profit development, art curation and production, fundraising, writing, public speaking and art education.

In 2010, Beth founded Dashboard, an award-winning arts nonprofit specializing in large-scale public art projects. Under her leadership, the organization presented 90+ projects in varying U.S. cities including Atlanta, New York, D.C., Montgomery, New Orleans, and more. In 2015, she developed Dash Studio, a production and design house focusing on arts-driven builds and creative branding. Collectively, her two companies commissioned works from 500+ artists, created thousands of jobs and infused millions of art-driven dollars into local economies.

Beth has secured funds for projects from institutions like Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Ford Motor Company Fund, Sara Blakely Foundation, Wish Foundation, and more. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Hyperallergic, Business Insider, HGTV, WABE, Washington Post, Good Morning America, Atlanta Journal Constitution, and many others. She is a graduate of Urban Land Institute’s Center for Leaders, Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta, Ford Motor Company’s Gathering of Innovators, and Independent Curators International intensive on time-based media.

Beth has been a guest lecturer and curator at the University of Georgia, Atlanta Contemporary, SCAD, Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Wisconsin-Stout. Beth has consulted with entrepreneurs, artists, city governments, developers, and businesses of all scales looking to improve their impact. Some of her clients have included Centers for Disease Control, Netflix, Mailchimp, Georgia Institute of Technology, Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, Havas Global, A3C Festival, and the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Beth did a TED Talk that has been seen 1.3 million times and translated into 33 languages. It’s now used to train medical staff in dementia and Alzheimers’ facilities. She also spoke at TEDxAtlanta about her work at Dashboard and the impact of art on local economies. With a specialization in art education, in 2010, Beth started the Teen Program at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, which continues to thrive and has engaged hundreds of thousands of teens.

Beth is a board member of Fair Play, an organization aiming to make great healthcare equitable and affordable. Her writing has appeared in national and international publications. Beth’s short films have screened in Atlanta and New York, and my visual art has been presented throughout the South. She has a Masters of Letters from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
